Why I should become a Medical Assistant, what are the benfits?

Becoming a medical assistant can be a rewarding career choice for several reasons:

  2. Variety of duties: Medical assistants have a diverse range of duties, including administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records, as well as clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.

  4. Good earning potential: Medical assistants typically earn a good salary, and the earning potential can increase with experience and certification.

  6. Advancement opportunities: Medical assistants can advance their careers by obtaining additional certifications, such as becoming a Certified Medical Office Manager.

To become a medical assistant in the state of California, you must first complete a medical assisting program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Once you have completed the program, you can take the certification exam offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). You can also take the certification exam offered by the National Healthcare Association (NHA) to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). Keep in mind that some employers may require certification, but it is not mandatory in the state of California.
